More ribbins

Mum taked me (and that poodle) to some more competitions. And guess what? I even beat the poodle haha. We went to New Plymouth and the poodle got disqualified and I came 2nd woop woop. I musta been awesome, cos I stopped half way round the course to check out some rabbit poop, and I STILL came 2nd, so they must have thought i was real handsome or something.

Anyway, last weekend we went to our dog clubs 'club champs' day. Mum took me and Maddy in the morning to do some obedience. The first test
was a hard one, I had to walk off the lead and mum says i get a bit distracted. So I headed off out of the ring, cos there was exciting stuff happening out there ya know, and this scary lady standing by the rope, well, she put her foot out and gave me a tap!!! So I thought I'd better go back to my Mum. I did all my stays perfectly though it was really tempting to move. Most of the other dogs moved. This judge musta thought I was handsome as well, cos I cam 2nd again.

The second test Maddy and I both did. Maddy was real brave, cos even after it started to rain a bit, she still lay down on the grass (she hates wet grass). And even after Shema the basenji broke her stay and came over for a sniff, brave Maddy just stayed there. So I came 2nd (again) and Maddy came 3rd.

Then in the afternoon we did some agility. Mum let me run with Melissa, but I know that I can pull a swifty with her so i got some faults when I ran around a jump.

Then that Poodle did a couple of courses. She came first in elementary (she got a ribbon AND a cup) and um er I think it was 2nd in starters.

She also won a cup for the best new competitor (someone else has it though cos they forgot to bring it back from last year) and Mum won a trophy for dedication to the club (she makes the newsletter). Was sooo tired at the end of the day. Heres a pic of me, Daisy and Maddy with our ribbons and trophys (except for the extra one).

I went to some shows with that poodle

So Mum and I have been practicing agility real hard. I can do it, and I really like to weave, but ya know, when we get to a show, and theres lots of people, and dogs and smells, I can get a little distracted. The first agility show Mum took me too, I ran all over the place, sniffing here and there, did a few jumps, cos I felt like it, and then I tried to pee on the timing pole, but Mum stopped me. I dont know what the problem was, what else is a pole for but to pee on. Anyways, heres a vid link of me at my first show. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q-dOtAVsmEg

So after that, Mum was really brave and decided to try again..and she took me (and that poodle) to Hawera for a ribbon trial. I have won ribbons there before for obedience.

Mum only entered me in one event, thats all she thought I could cope with (I know I coulda done more though). So I went first before the poodle, and I was darned amazing I must say. I ran right round that ring, went over all the jumps, through all the tunnels, weaved perfectly and I got a clear round. Mum even had a tear in her eye at the end she was so proud.

The the poodle went, she dint do as good as me cos she fluffed up the weave a bit. She got a clear round too though (she are allowed to fluff the weave when you are a beginner).

Anyways, she ran faster than I did, so she got second place, and I got third. WOOHOO.

So then a couple of weeks ago, Mum took me and the poo to an obedience show. We entered different events, cos I have already won the first beginners event. So the poo got second place in that one, which wasnt too bad cos that is the first time she has competed in obedience. And then I competed in the next contest and I got second place too. So Mum was pretty please with us.

I got another fourth place ribbon

So Mum took me to another Obedience competition. She entered me in two events (didnt ask me though). Elementary 2, which I have already winned, but I'm still aloud to enter til I win again. And Special Beginners I'll tell ya about that in a minute).

So we did the elementary 2, and I walked on the lead blah blah, did mug sits and down etc. And then when I did my recall, I just knew Mum was gonna make me do that 'finish' thing, where she asks me to walk around her legs and sit on the other side, so I thought I'd just do it anyway, before she even asked me to...clever huh! So yeah, anyway, I came fourth. Mum said we need to practise that one.

Special Beginner, well thats a bit tougher. We started off walking on the lead, no worries there. But then...Mum took my lead off and handed it to a lady. Well, I thought that ladys got my lead so I'd better go and sit next to her (I think Mum said she was a judge or something like that). The lady wrote some things down on her pad (Proably how amazingly handsome I am).

Then I had to walk around the course next to Mum without the lead, I did ok I guess, but its a bit tough without that lead on. Theres just so much stuff to sniff ya know?

Then we did a recall, Mum had to call me a couple of times, cos I was a bit tired by then. So I went to her and ran straight through her legs and then lay down haha. That'll teach her, I done hate that recall.

So then we had to do the sit and down stays. It was for a really long time. No leads once again. So I thought I'd just remind Mum that I was waiting for her, and I did some barking. There were people giggling so I think I musta been pretty cute.

Well, anyway, we didnt come anywhere in that competition.

So now Mums decided she wants me to try agility too! I love it, so long as I can do what I want. None of this following the course for me. No siree. I'll just run all over the ring and pee wherever I want. I made people laugh again (even Mum laughed) so it musta been ok) thats how ya do agility isnt it?

More Ribbons....

Sigh...I'm so darned clever. With absolutely no help from my Mum, I won some more ribbons.

I won a third place ribbon at the Hawera Dog Training Club Obedience Ribbon Trial

and then...then.....OMG

I won not one, but TWO FIRST PLACE RIBBONS.

Thats right, Mum kindly drove me to Feilding for the ribbon trial over there. It was too cool, I met this really nice white fluffy dog, called Bear (whats that about). She smelled sooo good and I just wanted to play with her. She liked me too, but she was really big for a Bichon, and her fur wasn't curly, and she shed like crazy. Mum said something about a Samoyed, I dont know what that means, but if I ever meet Bear again I'm gonna ask her to be my girlfriend.

Anyways, back to the topic...

First we entered Elementary 1 Obedience, and Mum worked really hard not to walk too fast and to keep my lead loose. Then she gave me just the right amount of encouragement so I could do a nice recall. And then during the stays she kindly removed some horsey poop so I wouldn't get distracted.

The we did the Elementary 2 test, which is a little bit harder than the 1st one. But I still did really well. During the down/stay, one of the other dogs, a mini schnauzer stood up (that is definitely a no-no) and came over to me and sniffed me. I could hear my Mums heart pounding, but she shouldn't have worried. I didn't get up. I just rolled over and the the schnauzer 'the look' (I learned that from my poodle friend).

Anyways. When the results came in, they called my number first. Mum couldn't believe it but I wasn't surprised.

And then...then they called the result for the 2nd test, and and I won AGAIN.

Only thing is, now I can't compete in Elementary 1 anymore, cos that's for newbies, and I aint no newbie no more.

I winned I winned I winned

OMG 2010 off to a good start. Mummy took me to a competiton on the weekend. I had such a nice time. Lots of people came up to me and stroked me, telling me how handsome I am, and feeding me tidbits. I got ham and muffin and bun (amongst other things) it was darn good.

So the competition was for obedience, Mummy hasnt done any obedience with me for ages, cos she does agility with that poo. We she decided we give give it a go. WE entered two events and the first one we came nowhere cos Mum keeped tugging on my lead when I wasnt walking fast enough.

So in the second competition, she didnt tug on my lead, she just kept patting her lead and calling my name so I trotted along after her. Then we had to do a recall, which I wasnt very happy about cos it was a hot day and I was getting a bit bored and tired.

The we did some stays and that was ok, I sat for a minute and then lay down for a minute and a half. No Problem.

Then when everyone had finished, and Mummy thought we didnt come anywhere again (this event was harder than the first one) they called my
number and two others to do a run off!!! Arrgghh we had to do another recall. Now I didnt know this, but Mummy put an empty plastic treat bag in her pocket. I saw her put it in her pocket....but I thought it had food in it (I forgot that I just just eaten it all). So when she called me in the ring...I ran straight to her to get that treat, and sat down nicely in front of her (she likes it when I do that).

Well, we ended up getting fourth place so I won a ribbon (I think Mummy is pretty pleased with me).

Heres a pic....

Oh...I spose I better mention that the silly poo also won some agility ribbons. She got a fourth place and a second place.
